DANGER TO YOUR LIVESTOCK
Tests conducted on our test bench by our engineers have shown that the coating used on some competing hay tines is powder-coated or thermoplastic. This type of coating tends to flake, as illustrated in the yellow-highlighted area in the photo above.
These flakes can end up in the hay and be ingested by livestock, posing a serious risk to animal health and to feed safety. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) strictly regulates the presence of physical contaminants in animal feed.
The lower tine shown is an Agri-Can model, tested simultaneously. Our test bench is designed to test two tines at the same time. Notice the smooth coating, with no steel or paint flaking on the Agri-Can tine.
Our high-resistance, flexible coating is a water-based formulation, free of solvents and added plastics. It is specifically engineered to adhere durably to metal and to significantly reduce the risk of flaking under real-world agricultural operating conditions.

Each hay tine undergoes a double series of rigorous tests to ensure performance and durability:
First inspection conducted by Forges du Saut du Tarn (FSDT), including strength and compliance testing prior to shipment.
Second verification performed at Agri-Can’s headquarters, where samples are tested on our in-house test bench to confirm and validate results.
This dual validation process makes Agri-Can the only company on the market to provide such a comprehensive quality control system, with both logos applied to each part as a guarantee of authenticity.
For complete traceability, each hay tine is steel-engraved with its batch number and production date, ensuring transparency and full compliance.
